About
I’m Barry Sloan, a multimedia graphic designer and educator based in the Detroit area. Drawing in pencil and charcoal led me to a long and successful career as a designer and illustrator. My journey has been a wonderful experience of creating visual solutions and marketing strategies for small, medium, to large sized businesses and non-profit organizations. Along the way, I overcame my stage fright, and thoroughly enjoyed teaching graphic design at the college level, as well as teaching an English language curriculum online, for several years. Now, I am seeking new opportunities to share my passion, experience, and knowledge as an artist and an educator.
When I slip away from the graphic’s world, I spend time with my amazing wife, our two cats Lula and Maddie, and our big dog Jackson. We spend a lot of time with our large family and love to go camping. We also ride motorcycles, exercise regularly including yoga, and follow the local sports teams. I am also learning to play acoustic guitar. It’s a work in progress. I enjoy all kinds of music.
